После окончания курса обучающийся сможет распознавать типичные проявления основных психических расстройств, организовать процесс лечения и ухода за психически больными. В лекционный курс включены основные теоретические положения психиатрии. Практические занятия проводятся на базе клинического отделения психиатрической больницы. На практических занятиях студенты вырабатывают навыки распознания психических расстройств, знакомятся с особенностями работы отделений психиатрического профиля, совершенствуют навыки опроса больного, формирования взаимопонимания и доверия между пациентом и медицинским работником. Самостоятельная работа студента предполагает теоретическую подготовку по отдельным темам с выполнением контрольной работы по одной из выбранных тем, самостоятельную курацию пациентов психиатрического профиля с анализом состояния конкретного больного, выделением сестринского диагноза и заполнением сестринской карты.
